Lynne Martzall, Director of Communications and Marketing, City of Coral Springs

Lynne Martzall is a public relations and marketing professional with 22 years of experience specializing in government and public safety communications. Martzall oversees the city of Coral Springs’ communication strategies, including digital content, website development, broadcast, social media outreach and management, creative services, photography, videography, and city-run event planning and sponsorship opportunities. Martzall specializes in crisis communication and creative writing, and she serves as the city’s spokesperson. Martzall is a two-time Emmy and Telly Award recipient. In 2022, she received national recognition from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) for an innovative campaign designed to successfully resume recycling in the city of Coral Springs.

John Norris, Director of Public Works, City of Coral Springs

John Norris is the director of public works for the city of Coral Springs, a master-planned community that serves more than 132,000 residents. Norris manages the solid waste and recycling franchise agreement as well as other major citywide contracts. He also oversees the city’s utilities, engineering, facilities maintenance, streets and landscaping. Norris has previously served as director of stormwater, pavement and traffic operations in St. Petersburg, Fla. and the director of public works in Edenton, N.C.

Scott Breen, Vice President of Sustainability, Can Manufacturers Institute

Scott Breen is the vice president of sustainability at the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI). His responsibilities include promoting the can as a sustainable and circular package, advocating at both the federal and state level for legislation and regulation that reflects the can’s sustainability advantages, and leading the industry’s efforts to build upon the can industry’s leading recycling rates. Along with his position at CMI, Breen also explores various aspects of sustainability as creator and co-host of the podcast Sustainability Defined, which has monthly episodes that reach thousands of listeners across all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
